Want to start a forest at your school? Here's your chance!

Reforestation and conservation have been a hot topic especially in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The Miyawaki Method involved planting species at 30x the density of traditional forests to instigate interspecific competition and encourage faster-growing and more resilient forests. Because of its compactness at only 100 metres squared, it is highly suitable for school communities. I will be sharing about how I began the first Miyawaki Forest in Western Canada at my high school and encouraging you to do the same.

I'm ROOTing for you to join in learning about the innovative Miyawaki Method incorporates knowledge about native species, ecology, and community-centred greenspaces.
